Yuko Mizutani was born in Miyagi (Japan). She graduated at the prestigious music university Tokyo-Geijutsu Daigaku with professors Yasuko Nakayama, Miwa Yuguchi and Klaus Schilde. In this period, in which she also studied with Satoru Sunahara, Michael Schäfer and Jan Panenka, she obtained the Honours price of the Japanese Young Music Competition (Tokyo) and the Kirishima International Competition.

She furthered studies with Tibor Hazai at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik Freiburg im Breisgau in Germany. In 1997, she was awarded in the Concorso Internationale di Musica da Camera "Palma d´Oro" (Italia).

Since 1998, she teaches at the International Summer Music Courses and also colaborates with different musical projects at the Balearic Islands University (Spain). She also teaches at the Conservatory Superior of Music of the Balearic Islands. She has been awarded with the price of best pianist in the Competition Intercentros "Melomano" in Spain the years 2008 and 2010.

She has been invited to work several years as pianist at the International Academy of Music of Palma de Mallorca (Spain) and at Nice International Academie (France) with maestros Gérard Poulet and Patrice Fontanarosa among others. Since its first edition, Yuko Mizutani works in the Masterclasses with Jean-Marie Londaix in the Mallorca Saxophone Festival.

In her continuous activity as a soloist and chamber music pianist she has played in Germany, France, Spain and Italy.
